June 6th

June 6, 2012

Not much to say today.  Here is a poem.

Summer garden

Here’s my task for today.
Start Summer.
While the fine rain blows
gently as a silk curtain
I put on my old gardening clothes
walk into my garden
to push the season forward.

I found somewhere out of the way
where the weak light
has greyed the day
and start to dig
breaking the sodden clay

The woods had stopped talking
as I laboured away
no song thrust notes
broke this dripping day

I planted digitalis
to start
the heart
of summer.
