NaPoWriMo April 16 Haiku catch up (7 of 12)

April 23, 2013

napo2013buttonContinuing from where I left off yesterday; it was teatime.  At this point I realised that I was missing an essential part of the evening meal, dessert.  Having failed to bribe any of the children to go to the local convenience store, I went myself.  I wouldn’t say this last minute dashing out to the local shop is part and parcel of our daily routine, but among ourselves we now refer to it as ‘the larder’.  Although I wasn’t happy that I had to go myself, the walk gave me the time to construct this rather rueful Haiku.
