NaPoWriMo April 17 Haiku catchup (8 of 12)

April 23, 2013

napo2013buttonWalking to the local shop also provided me with another unexpected pleasure, that it was unquestionably Spring!  There was a mild wind blowing warm air carrying subtle undercurrents of scent from early blossoming Cherry trees.  My raspberry bush stems were studded with green buds of the emerging leaves.  The ash trees branches were tipped with buds which look like black felt and the light made everything feel clear, sharp and somehow optimistic.  Being British I accept that none of these signals *actually* mean it is Spring, it could be Winter again tomorrow, but I dare to trust.  As such these simple wonders lift my spirits and led to the creation of this haiku

Friday 8  – 4.30pm

Warm air in blue sky

Taunts me that Spring is coming

Hope is blossoming
